What are cysts and styes?
Cysts or styes are fluid filled lumps in different areas of the eyelids, as a result of blocked glands. They can have more specific names given to them, such as hordeolum, chalazion, cyst of moll, or cyst of zeiss.

What are the treatment options?
Warm compresses generally helps get rid of cysts or styes, normally over a week or two but sometimes longer. Very occasionally, a minor procedure is required but we strongly advise performing warm compresses first and foremost.
